Marketing

Outsourced marketing director

Eqvola takes responsibility for managing your marketing: setting priorities, planning the budget, assigning tasks and reviewing results. Your specialists or contractors do the work. You gain a person responsible for marketing as a whole who explains what to do next.

What an outsourced marketing director does

An outsourced marketing director leads marketing for your business under an agreement with Eqvola rather than as an employee. They are responsible for the overall direction: what we do now and why, where the budget goes, who performs the tasks and how results are assessed.

Management, not production. The director plans, assigns tasks and reviews completed work. Copy, design, shoots and advertising setup are handled by your people or contractors. If a specialist is missing, this work can be commissioned separately from Eqvola.

Delivery work and advertising budget are separate. The management fee does not include specialists' work, advertising spend or paid services.

We agree authority at the start. We establish which decisions the director makes independently and which require your approval.

We work with your team, not in its place. Your specialists remain with you. The director helps them work towards a shared direction.

When to bring in a marketing director

01

You have specialists but no manager. You have a marketer, designer or paid-social specialist, and perhaps an agency too.

Each does their part well, but nobody is responsible for ensuring that everything works towards one goal.

02

The owner assigns tasks to marketers

In between suppliers, finances and a meeting that has already been postponed twice. The director takes over this role and leaves the key decisions with you.

03

Every contractor reports differently

One sends screenshots, another a spreadsheet, and a third a presentation best read over coffee. Bringing these into one picture is a job of its own, which the director handles.

What the marketing director is responsible for

01 /

Priorities and marketing plan

Determines what to do now, what to do later and what to leave out. Creates a plan showing the objectives, channels and sequence of actions.

02 /

Budget planning and allocation

Recommends how much to spend on each channel, monitors expenditure and reallocates funds to where they work better. You approve the total budget.

03 /

Assigning tasks to specialists

Defines tasks so the specialist understands the objective, deadline and acceptance criteria. Less “make something nice”; more specifics.

04 /

Monitoring deadlines and quality

Ensures tasks are completed on time, reviews work and requests revisions if the result does not meet the agreement.

05 /

Analytics and reporting

Brings data from different channels into one picture and explains what it means for future decisions.

06 /

Connecting marketing and sales

Looks beyond enquiry volume to what happens next. Works with your sales department to identify where enquiries are lost.

What you receive

01 /

A prioritised marketing plan

A document explaining what is happening in marketing now, what comes next and why in that order.

02 /

Agreed budget allocation

Which channels and tasks receive funding, how much, and the criteria for deciding what to change.

03 /

Tasks with owners and deadlines

Each task has an owner, deadline and acceptance criterion. Status is visible without separate reminders in three chats.

04 /

Regular reports for the owner

What has been done, what the data shows, which decisions we propose and what we need from you.

05 /

How we assess the director's work. At the start, we agree the criteria: the plan is followed, tasks are completed on time, decisions are based on data and reports arrive on schedule.

We also track enquiries and sales, but assess them separately: they depend on marketing, the product, price and your sales team's work. We therefore do not promise a specific sales increase.

HOW WE WORK

How we work

  1. 01

Getting to know the business and current marketing

We understand the product, customers and sales. We review who does what, the available data and what has already been tried. Result: a clear picture of the current situation.

  2. 02

    Priorities and plan

We define objectives for the coming period, priority channels and budget allocation. Result: a plan for your approval.

  3. 03

    Setting up the process

We agree where tasks are managed, how specialists report and how often we meet. Result: a clear working process for the whole team.

  4. 04

    Ongoing management

We assign tasks, monitor completion, review work and adjust the plan as data or circumstances change. Result: marketing follows a plan and you know what is happening.

  5. 05

Reviewing results and planning the next period

We analyse what worked and what did not, then propose changes. Result: a report and an updated plan.

Who your director will be

We assign a specific person to your project who is responsible for marketing and communicates with you directly. If a task needs additional expertise, the director brings in Eqvola specialists in analytics, development or automation.

What the work looks like

We are currently preparing public case studies of client marketing management. For now, we show examples of the director's working materials.

Ways of working and pricing

01

Ongoing management or management during a launch

Ongoing management. The director manages your marketing continuously, with plans updated for each period.

Management during a launch. For example, during the launch of a new product or a marketing restructure while you look for an in-house manager.

02

What determines the cost

  • the number of channels and specialists to manage;
  • the director's time commitment;
  • the frequency of meetings and reports;
  • the need to involve Eqvola specialists in analytics or other areas.
03

What is paid for separately

Specialists' work, advertising budget and paid services. If Eqvola handles some delivery work, we quote for it separately.

How is this different from full-service marketing?

An outsourced marketing director manages marketing: setting priorities, budgets and tasks, while your team or contractors deliver the work. With full-service marketing, Eqvola both plans and delivers the agreed scope. If you have no delivery specialists, full-service marketing is likely the better fit. Full-service marketing

Who handles design, advertising and content?

Your specialists or contractors. The director ensures their work follows the plan. If nobody is available for a task, it can be commissioned separately from Eqvola: for example, SMM, advertising or photo and video production.

How much of the owner's time will this take?

Most is needed at the start: explaining the business, customers and sales, and approving the plan and budget. After that, you attend regular meetings and make key decisions. The director handles day-to-day task management. All questions and answers
