Digital product MVP

We help turn an idea into a first working product with its most important features. A version people can already use, so you can test the idea in practice.

First product versionTesting the idea

What an MVP means at Eqvola

An MVP is a first working product version. It fully supports one or more core scenarios so real people can use them. We do not call a collection of unfinished features or a clickable mock-up an MVP.

The main work happens before programming. Together, we define who the product is for, what action users should complete and what you want to learn after launch. Other ideas go into a plan for later stages, not the first estimate.

Minimal does not mean rushing the foundations. Data, access and security requirements important for the first launch are considered immediately; adding them later without rework is difficult.

An MVP can be a web application, a mobile app or a combination of custom development and existing services. We choose the format for the scenario and budget. We do not promise market success: the first version exists to test the idea before major investment.

When you need this service

01 /

You have an idea but no technical specification

You understand the customer problem but do not know where development should start. We help describe users, scenarios and first-launch features.

02 /

You need to test interest in the product

Before investing in a full platform, it is worth seeing how people use the core feature. We define what the first version should test.

03 /

The feature list keeps growing

Every new idea seems essential, and launch is postponed. We help separate what is necessary from future development.

04 /

You need to demonstrate the product in action

Early customers, partners or your team need a usable version, not a presentation. We prepare it within the agreed scope.

05 /

A new digital service within an existing business

Your company is launching a service alongside its core activity. We start with a first version connected to your processes and systems.

What MVP development includes

01

Defining the first version

  • describing users and the problem the product solves;
  • the core scenario and first-launch features;
  • a list of what is deferred to later stages;
  • questions the launch should answer.
02

Planning and design

  • the user journey and screen structure;
  • a prototype to discuss before programming;
  • interface design within the agreed scope;
  • choosing between custom development and existing services for individual parts.
03

Development and launch

  • implementing agreed features and the backend;
  • connecting required services, such as payments or notifications;
  • configuring measurement of key actions;
  • testing scenarios and preparing for launch.

HOW WE WORK

How the work progresses

You decide the first version’s scope; we help justify those decisions and implement the agreed work.

  1. 01

    Clarify the idea

    We discuss the idea, users, budget and what already exists. We determine whether a separate research and design stage is needed.

  2. 02

    Define the first version

    After the contract and payment, we document the core scenario, features and readiness criteria. Deliverable: a clear MVP scope and a list of deferred ideas.

  3. 03

    Design and develop

    We prepare a prototype and design, then implement features. We show intermediate versions so decisions can be approved on time.

  4. 04

    Test and launch

    We test agreed scenarios and prepare the environment and launch. We hand over access and materials specified in the engagement.

  5. 05

    Plan the next stage

    After launch, we review usage data and feedback together. We use these to decide what to develop next.

What you receive

01 /

A description of the first version

Users, the core scenario, first-launch features and stage boundaries.

02 /

Prototype and design

Screen structure and an agreed interface that can be discussed before programming.

03 /

A working product version

Implemented and tested scope usable by the first users.

04 /

Measurement of key actions

Configured tracking of actions that show whether people use the product as intended.

05 /

A development plan

Deferred features, dependencies and questions for the next stage.

What we need from you

  • a description of the idea and the people the product is for;
  • existing materials: research, examples and notes;
  • someone who decides on features;
  • willingness to defer some ideas to later stages;
  • access to early users for testing, if available.

A technical specification is not required at the start: we will help develop it.

What determines the cost

01

Ways to work together

Research and design. First-version specification, prototype and development estimate as a separate stage.

Full MVP cycle. From defining the first version to development, testing and launch.

02

What determines the cost

  • the number and complexity of core scenarios;
  • the platform: web, mobile app or both;
  • server logic and integrations;
  • design scope.
03

What is paid for separately

  • server resources, domain and paid services;
  • platform accounts for publishing applications;
  • ongoing development and support.

Questions about MVPs

How does an MVP differ from a prototype?

A prototype shows how a product will look and work, but real users do not use it. An MVP is a working version in which the core scenario can be completed in full. A prototype is often a step towards an MVP.

How many features should an MVP have?

As many as are needed to complete the core scenario from beginning to end. The number depends on the product, not a general rule. Other ideas are planned for later stages.

Will the MVP have to be rewritten later?

Not necessarily. We consider important data, access and architecture requirements from the start so the first version can be built upon. However, testing may change the idea, requiring some decisions to be revisited. That is a normal part of product development.

Will you help with launch and early users?

The marketing team can handle positioning, the product page and early user acquisition. We plan this separately and coordinate it with product readiness.

Do you guarantee the product will succeed?

No. We are responsible for the agreed scope and tested scenarios. An MVP exists to test an idea with real users before major investment. All questions and answers
